"Monster Road" tomorrow night and other ASIFA-Atlanta related news

Hello animation fan!

Alan Louis at the Center for Puppetry Arts has arranged a screening of the amazing documentary about animator Bruce Bickford, "Monster Road". It's happening Saturday, March 28th, at 8pm, at the Center for Puppetry Arts- don't miss it!

Director Brett Ingram will be answering questions after the film.

Buy your tickets online here:

If you use the special promo code "MONSTERFILM" you'll get $2 off, putting the ticket price at $5. ASIFA-Atlanta is very proud to be a sponsor of this film showing. See you there!

We're also getting ready for our annual showing of independent animation, "Roll Yer Own". We'll be sending a call for entries sometime soon and will have the event probably in late May. Please get a film ready, we'd love to show it! You can even bug your animator friends to make something- we want to have lots of good animation to show!

Two other opportunities to have your work shown are Atlanta Shorts (which shows on PBA30, Atlanta's PBS station; I had a film in this show and it was one of the best experiences I've had as a filmmaker):

I highly recommend submitting to Atlanta Shorts if you can!

And WonderRoot TV too:

Entries for WonderRoot TV are due the 15th and screenings occur the first Wednesday of each month at 8pm at WonderRoot, in addition to being shown weekly on People TV public access.

ASIFA-Atlanta is proud to be putting together a program of particularly remarkable local animation for the Society for Animation Studies conference in July. If you would be interested in submitting something, email Brett (brett@fluidtoons.com).

ASIFA-Atlanta's own board member John Ryan is mentioned in this article about a few lovely commercials he helped create for The Southern Company:
